gospel of Thomas 35
Jesus said, "It is not possible for anyone to enter the house of a strong man and take it by force unless he binds his hands; then he will (be able to) ransack his house."
This verse from the Gospel of Thomas doesn't say much to me at all. It's a parable of some sort. And my only guess is that the house of the strong man is referring to the person who has great faith, who has realised some truth for themself. One becomes strong in oneself then. And nothing can really disturb one, from that space of confidence in oneself, in life. It is a strong place. And nobody can disturb it.
But Jesus says, unless he binds his hands, the hands of the strong man are bound, and then someone can ransack the house. I don't really see what this is going on about. Perhaps it means more to you than it does to me. I'll leave you to ponder it.
